About Us

Jason Elter, J.D. is certified by the California State Bar as a Specialist in Family Law, a certification shared by less than 1% of the entire State Bar. He has practiced family law exclusively since 1997 in California, New York and Colorado.

Jason specializes in complex financial cases involving the division of separate and community property and the tracing thereof, the computation of spousal and child support involving intricate income sources, and highly contested custody and visitation disputes. Jason also routinely handles contested and uncontested adoptions, guardianships, paternity, and same-sex relation marriages and arrangements. He also regularly handles cases that are resolved through mediation and collaboration.

He currently serves as the California State Bar Co-Chair to the Family Law Bay Area Standing Committee and is a member of the Alameda County Bar Association, Family Law Section, Contra Costra County Bar Association, Family Law Section and the Eastern Alameda County Bar Association.
